The first activity held by Louisiana Drumline Camp was held in April 2009. The focus of this activity was to introduce the mission and goals of the organization. The event included a parent informational, 5- hour mini- camp, hot lunch, and special guest instructor Dr. John Wooton, Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi and author of: "The Drummers Rudimental Reference Book." With over 100 students participating, the camp concluded with a performance by members of Southern University's drum section.
